Mudd Fest 2019
Puddle of Mudd
House of Blues Anaheim, Ca. 4/18/19
The Mudd Fest Tour came through Anaheim Ca and blew the roof off of the House of Blues!
Puddle of Mudd played host on this traveling rock show and they couldn’t have had a more killer lineup joining them!
TRAPT gave us “Headstrong”, Saliva gave us “Click, Click, Boom”, Saving Abel gave us “Addicted” and Tantric gave us “Breakdown”!
We all remember blasting the CD’s from each of these rockin’ bands and most of us probably still do, but this night they brought the hits to us live! Fans of all ages came out for this mega rock show! The house was packed when I arrived and even the merch area was filled with fans grabbing up those shirts, hoodies and hats!
Each band played a killer set of their famous hits and more! A couple of these bands actually have new music either coming out soon or already released.
Will To Rock recently covered Puddle of Mudd at their show in Pasadena at the first of the year but it was great seeing Wes Scantlin and the guys on stage again. Wes is looking healthy and happy and seems to be enjoying the positive feed–back coming from the fans at each show as does the rest of the band! Wes has made great strides in the past couple of years and Will To Rock wishes him continued success!
The show had an early start, but the fans were ready to rock!
Only one small technical issue when TRAPT first started but Chris Taylor Brown handled it like a pro! Other than that, the sets were one hit after another. The only bummer was that the sets were rather short sets. I wish each band could have played a lot longer but that’s the drawback when you have so many bands playing on one line up which seems to be happening more and more these days.
A few of the highlights for me were actually spread out over each band.
Wes Scantlin seemed to be in an exceptionally good mood. He was smiling, giving a wave to fans and of course there was that famous tongue sticking out. Anytime I get to see this Puddle of Mudd play is a highlight and tonight they were spot on while having fun!
Tosha Jones, drummer for Saliva killed it! That is one badass drummer and it’s just awesome to watch her play!
Scott Austin, lead vocals for Saving Abel sounded awesome and his interaction with the fans was great to see. I love it when bands interact well with the crowd, it keeps the energy high and the fans love to be acknowledged.
In fact, each band did a great job interacting with the crowd!
Bobby Amaru, lead singer for Saliva spotted a young rocker in the front who was enjoying the show with her parents and motioned for her to come up on stage. That little girl had the biggest smile on her face the whole time she was up there while they played their hit “Click, Click, Boom”!
Chris Taylor Brown, lead singer for TRAPT sounded fantastic! In spite of the tech issue that I mentioned he stayed focused and energized. A particularly awesome highlight was when Chris brought out An0maly and together they killed it with “Come Together”!
Tantric had the tough job of starting of the night. It’s an early spot but they blew it up with the very first song and kept it going to the last song! This is a strong band with some killer music and even though they had a short set they left a lasting impression on their fans! Love the deep rockin’ vocals of Hugo Ferreira, just had to add that in there!!
Overall the 2019 Mudd Fest in Anaheim was a success!
