The Return of the not so Quiet Riot

Saturday night was rockin’ in Anaheim! I was there just to enjoy the night and celebrate my anniversary with the hubby, but Quiet Riot came out with such energy that I knew I had to share the experience with you all!
Quiet Riot kicked things off with a strong set of classics, including “Run for Cover,” “Slick Black Cadillac,” and “Cum On Feel the Noize.” All eyes were on 23-year-old New York singer John Torra, who brought confidence, energy, and a great stage presence while honoring the legacy of Kevin DuBrow. The crowd loved him! A nod to Ozzy with the “Crazy Train” intro before “Let’s Get Crazy” was another highlight.

Guitarist Alex Grossi was right near us, and we always love getting up close to rock out with a kickass guitarist! Bassist Rudy Sarzo kept the low-end rumbling while working the whole stage, and drummer Johnny Kelly delivered the powerful beats that drove the set.

Partway through the set, Rudy Sarzo announced that Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward was in the house, watching from behind the amps for a bit. How cool for Johnny Kelly to have such an icon in the audience watching him work!

They closed with “Metal Health (Bang Your Head),” and you better believe we did! Quiet Riot is still bringing the heat!
Slaughtering Anaheim!

Slaughter brought plenty of ’80s rock nostalgia to the Grove of Anaheim Saturday night! With a set full of fan favorites, powerful vocals, and the melodies fans have loved for decades, the band reminded everyone why these songs still sound great live. It was another fun night of classic Slaughter!
Mark Slaughter sounded great on vocals, bringing his signature voice to the band’s biggest hits. Dana Strum held down the bass with intensity, keeping the energy high, and Jeff Blando delivered the guitar work that helped make the songs shine. Jordan Cannata kept the rhythm tight behind the drums, driving the band through its hard-hitting set.

I had the pleasure of seeing Slaughter earlier this year while they were touring with Ratt and Sebastian Bach, and these guys continue to deliver the goods! Saturday’s set was packed with fan favorites, including “Mad About You,” “Spend My Life,” and “Burning Bridges.” Things slowed things way down for a bit when Mark and the guys played the beautifully written song of reflection “Days Gone By with a smooth transition into “Real Love.” It was a chance to catch our breath, soak in the moment, and appreciate the softer side of Slaughter before the rock party continued.

Then came the timeless power ballad “Fly to the Angels,” giving fans another memorable moment to sing along to, while “Up All Night” brought that signature Slaughter energy to the stage. They even worked The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” into “Up All Night” for a grand finale!

From the memorable melodies to the hard-hitting rock anthems, Slaughter reminded everyone why their music has stood the test of time. These guys know how to connect with the crowd and keep the spirit of ’80s rock alive!
Several Cell Pics because I couldn’t help myself!
