Ted Poley
Captain Ted Kicked off the Monsters Of Rock 2024 Pre-Party at Magic Casino. A set comprised of almost all Danger Danger songs. (As well as a cool rendition of Prince’s “Purple Rain” thrown in for good measure.) Ted’s mom was also on hand to make sure he behaved.
Rhino Bucket
Second on the bill tonight. If AC/DC were any less successful, they’d be Rhino Bucket. Great set that saw Sean McNabb (bass) and Kix’, Brian Forsythe (guitar) joining the band. A very welcome MORC staple.
Soto/Bieler
After a very eclectic set from Soto/Bieler (Jeff Scott and Jason) that included snippets of Taylor Swift, Oasis, as well as W.E.T. and Saigon Kick songs…
Hardcore Superstar
It was time for the MORC Surprise Guest. To the delight of the packed casino grounds, it was Sweden’s, Hardcore Superstar, who may not celebrate Sundays, but they sure as hell rocked the shit out of a Friday night in Miami.
Y&T
Closing out the evening were Bay Area Rock Legends, Y&T who are out celebrating their 50th anniversary. I’ll give you my refrain.. go see the legends when you can. Dave Meniketti is still sounding as incredible as ever and he and the Y&T boys brought the house down with a killer set spanning the band’s career.
We haven’t even set sail and this evening got everyone PUMPED!
