Kings X bassist, dUg Pinnick, took the Guest Curator reigns of the February Edition of SoundCheck Live and brought the spirit of Jimi Hendrix back to life.
dUg has appeared before and tantalized us with a few Hendrix songs here and there, but this was a full set consisting of all of Jimi’s biggest hits. How would dUg, a bassist, do justice to that amazing guitar sound? Well, he happened to bring along a few friends who “are experienced” at the 6-string fret board shenanigans. Especially when those friends include Richie Kotzen, Phil X (Bon Jovi), Spacey T (Sound Barrier) and Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme).
If that wasn’t enough, the two Local Showcase Acts kicked off the evening with two amazing sets. Keelan Ellis delivered some throwback rock tunes while Wayland delivered a killer set of new tunes in preparation for their upcoming tour with Hinder and Black Top Mojo (See link to official site at bottom for tour dates). If you showed up early, you were treated to something very special.
