Diane Lynn was On Scene & Heard…
RUST Festival 11/25/17
Will To Rock was on the scene and ready to rock the 2017 RUST Festival for this installment of Scene and Heard.
It was going to be one hell of a hot day for it now being November but with eleven of the coolest Tribute Bands in southern California coming together Will To Rock was ready for the festival to begin.
The tribute scene has been “happening” for many years now; it’s a great way to hear the songs of your favorite bands being performed live without having to wait for the tour to reach your city. In some cases, many of the tribute bands out there are paying tribute to bands that are no longer touring or in some cases the bands that are not even together any longer.
The RUST Festival was held at the infield of the Santa Anita Race Track in Arcadia, Ca. Two stages and tight set times that didn’t allow for much of a break in between bands. It was a bit of a slow start attendance wise but that didn’t stop the first band up, Motley Crued from delivering a fist pumping performance. It was a great way to start off this full day of Rock N Roll!
The lineup was a great mix of rock music, shown in order of appearance.
Motley Crued
Hurrikane – Scorpions Tribute
Paradise Kitty – Female Tribute to Guns N Roses
Rhoads to Ozz – Ozzy and Randy Rhoads Tribute

I’m not sure if this will be an ongoing yearly event (the first one was held in back in 2005) and with some of the feedback from the fans hoping there will some rethinking of ticket sales (mainly prices) I believe with a few tweaks of this and that the draw will be much greater if there is a next time.
Over all it was a fun day. All of the bands were awesome, the staff was fantastic and Will To Rock is looking forward to hopefully covering this event again next year.
