Ultimate Jam Night 96 presented a slew of love topics through rock, funk, metal, ballads, and blues on Valentine’s Day. I was lucky enough to have arrived early to catch Denmantau with their unique fusion of world music type folk, jazz and rock. Love them! I felt like I should be in Seattle or a Starbucks or a Starbucks in Seattle when listening to them.
The jam’s talented musicians followed and hammered out song after song in the key of love. Always great to hear the house band, Chuck Wright, Matt Starr, Mitch Perry, Walter Ino, and Paulie Z as well as the other returning Jam performers. Highlights included Kacee Clanton resurrecting Janis Joplin on two songs which included David Goodstein, Sean McNabb, Mitch Perry, Teddy Zig Zag Andriadis and “Ball and Chain”. A performance not to be missed!
Debby Holiday fresh from recording Paul Stanley’s, “I Still Love You” with Matt Starr, Chuck Wright , Bruce Kulik and Mitch Perry for a new project, delivered a beautiful rendition of the song.
Paulie Z, proving there isn’t any note he can’t reach, serenaded us and his wife, with the Righteous Brothers “Unchained Melody“. His amazing vocals wonderfully supported by Chris Allis, Al Kim, Michael Martinsson and Sven Martin, with strings provided by Koi Anunta, Rachel Grace and Nick Rosen.
