Wildstreet – “Wildstreet III”

Label: Golden Robot Records

Rating: 8/10

Review: Dawn Osborne

Wildstreet’s latest album, with a new line up of the NY band which has been around since 2006 retains the energy and 80s live fast die young attitude from their previous releases with some darker more modern twists and is recommended for fans of Motley Crue and Scandinavian Glam.

Tennessee Cocaine” is a stomping rousing opener with a singalong chorus and blistering guitar that is bound to go down well live.

‘Three Way Ride’ is a highly sexual fist pumper; think ‘Girls Girls Girls’ and you won’t be far off. ‘Set It Off’ has a funky beat which is a bit Electric Boys. ‘Still Love You’ is the 80s big ballad think ‘Home Sweet Home’ – so sticky sweet that if they didn’t play RnR you might even think they were nice boys.

Accordingly ‘Midnight Children’ is darker in tone and more metal with ghoulish laughing and screaming and horror elements– think Lizzy Borden crossed with Judas Priest. ‘Born To Be’ is filled with swagger think De Molls meets Hardcore Superstar.

Raise Hell’ continues the Scandinavian influences bit like HS stayed in the room and invited in Crash Diet. ‘Mother’ is more 90s, a darker aesthetic with a bit more creepy Marilyn Manson style thrown in, just in case you were feeling too comfortable.

Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll in 2021!! It’s almost refreshingly un-PC apart from the clear willingness to get their freak on without censure!! Hurry up before it is cancelled!!
